Pacifica California 1st Storm of the season 2009

Pacifica California:
The Bay Area experienced the first storm of the season on Tuesday. Pacifica suffered several power outages and loss of Comcast cable service which included television, phone, and internet service. The power was restored early in the evening and Comcast restored service just after 11pm. This video is shot and edited by Vicki Bacon, and shows the heavy rain and wind in Pacifica.

Valero offers service with a smile:)

The Valero gas station in the Linda Mar area of Pacifica had a very nice surprise today. The attendants, and mechanics working for the station, took time to attend to the cars at the self serve gas pumps.

They cleaned windows, checked under the hood, and took me back in time, a time when service went the extra mile.

Thank you to the service attendants at Valero:

The Streets of Pacifica California-Re-Run

I'm re-posting the articles that started this blog. In my travels around my corner of Pacifica, I have come across areas that need attention, and improvement. But, there are so many great things about this place I call home. Here we go, with the first post:

Pacifica is located along the west coast 20 minutes south of San Francisco. The views are beautiful. If you live in the city (SF) this is an easy getaway by car or by BART and bus. Once here, there are trails to walk, cafes to visit, a long walk along the beach, fresh air and views to take in, and the great sound of the pacific ocean pounding the sand.

This is a low key coastal community, where you can hike, bike, play golf, or sit and relax and watch the waves roll in.

As a resident of Pacifica, I have seen a few areas in which this small beach town could improve. That is why I'm starting this blog, to post pictures, articles, and food for thought, to those in the business of city planning. There are area's where the streets should be improved and made safer.

But, this blog will also highlight the good stuff too. On occasion a business will be featured to introduce you to the community. Pictures will be posted to show you the beauty of this place I call home. Welcome to Pacifica, California.
