Ocean BLVD in Pacifica is well traveled by cars, commercial trucks, and people with and without dogs. Children walking to school, older folks out for exercise, people getting groceries etc.
There is a narrow strip of concrete to walk along, and squeeze past poles and yard sale debris, bushes and weeds. This little strip however is also uneven, forget getting a wheelchair through this path, or a baby stroller. I saw an elderly man fall into Oceana BLVD from this unsafe pathway not so long ago. That was reason enough for me to decide to take the time to blog about where I live.
City of Pacifica, and Public Safety Commission, we need your help, we need your time, we need your commitment to make our streets safe, so that everyone has safe access to real sidewalks, with space for wheelchairs, and strollers.
As Pacifica grows, we need to rebuild safe infrastructure, to make The Streets of Pacifica safe for us all. It's great to see people out walking and biking, and relying less on cars. This area is beautiful, can't we make it safer? vlb
